Nakip Mosque was repaired because it was affected by the 1872 earthquake. The structure was returned to its original form and was also used as a public library from 1940 to 1970. Antakya Municipality has started work for the dormant place after the library was moved to another location. A special work was launched in 2017 for the site, which is located inside the mosque and is the first public library of Antioch. Restoration work was started by sticking to its original function according to the data collected and the architectural features that were revealed. At the moment, Nakip Mosque is open for worship and has regained the form of the library.
