Erzurum Ahmediye Madrasa

According to the inscription on the Ahmadiyya Madrasah, located to the east of the Murat Pasha Mosque in Erzurum,were built in Hijri 714 and Miladi 1314. The madrasah, built by Gani Ahmed bin Yusuf, has now been protected by the decision of the High Council of Real Estate Antiquities and Monuments dated 13.11.1976 and A-188. The Ahmadiyya Madrasah was last restored between 2005 and 2006 and became its current form. It was operating as the 'Darülhadis Madrasah', which means 'house where hadith was taught'. The work, which is made with two iwans with a closed courtyard; it has a single-storey architecture without a portico. The north iwan is at the entrance of the building, the second iwan in the south is the main iwan with the mihrab on the back wall. There are two rooms to the east and west of the courtyard. There are rooms covered with vault separately at the each corner of the building. Inside the Ahmadiyya Madrasah, all the rooms has opening to a courtyard of the building, there are herbal decoratings on the columns. The mihrab outside the northern façade is mukarnas junction and columns are located in the corners. It is understood that this mihrab, which is surrounded by a deletion, belongs to the madrasah masjid which does not exist today.
