Double Belly Bath

Erzurum in the east of Turkey is among the most developed cities in its geography. The city, which has historically maintained its importance with its location, geographical characteristics and geopolitical significance on trade routes, is recorded as approaching 1 million of its current population. The city is surrounded by public buildings all over the country. At this point, baths are one of the structures identified with Erzurum, where both residents and tourists are of great interest. One of the most famous baths is undoubtedly the Double Belly Bath. The bath house, which has a name that refers to its different architectural features, is located in Yegen Aga neighborhood in the central location of the city. The bath house has two domes, thus offering a more balanced heat distribution. The bath house, which is thought to have been built in the 18th century, highlights with details in large areas traversed with doors, arches, domes, strong lighting and columns. The Double Belly Bath, which last underwent a detailed repair in 2006, is one of the historical treasures that comes to mind first when it mentioned about the bath house.
