Respect for History Park

The Respect for History Park, located in the center of the Eceabat District of Çanakkale city, is a place that gives its name its due. Respect for History Park, located on the beach side of the district, contains many objects and monuments. This park is essentially a miniature structure. Within this special park, some of the battlefields on the Gallipoli peninsula and the Çanakkale Strait and the layout of the settlements in these areas are clearly presented. All objects in the park are carefully designed in three dimensions. The project was developed and implemented by OPET. Opet also has many similar projects within the scope of respect for history.
When designing the Respect for History Park, especially the natural texture of the area is taken into account. Therefore, before the project implementation, the areas of war are carefully examined. The preparation phase of the project continues for months. In this context, many village squares are renovated and new sale areas are created. Other than this, new museums are also included in some villages. This park is made with the logic of an open-air museum. Those who come to the park can master almost all the details of the Çanakkale War.
The opening of the Respect for History Park in 2008 included the Minister of Culture and Tourism of that time. The opening of the park coincides exactly with the 93rd year of the Gallipoli campaign. Respect for History Park has two separate entrance gates. Those who wish can use ferries and those who wish can come here in the area of martyrdom. The park, which has many portrayals of the war, also features three-dimensional busts and maps. At the end of the park, there is a monument of respect for history. Many objects in the park were created by Aydın Erkmen.
