Yıldırım Hammam, one of the historical sites of Bursa, is located just west of Yıldırım Bayezid Street. The land on which the hammam was built is known to be sloping. The place, built in the 19th century, has the signature of Yildirim Bayezid. This place was built together with imaret, madrasa and mosque in the first place. The dressing part of the Yildirim Hammam, which is a relatively small bath, is covered with a dome with a diameter of eight meters. One of the ground doors is used on the right side to switch to the warm section. By using the other section, people can go directly into the toilet. The warmness section has a square plan. The diameter of the dome covering this place is four meters.
This place, which is still adjacent to the historic Yıldırım Mosque, belongs to one class of Turkish bath. The Yildirim Hammam has been repaired many times in the historical process. It underwent two major repairs, especially in 1605 and 1671. Today the place is run by a private person. Unfortunately, it is among the places whose value is not quite understood in the final process. The bathhouse remains in disrepair for a long time and is used as a warehouse. Nationalization and re-repair of this place is not on the agenda for now.
The architect of the Yildirim Hammam in the Mudurnu District of Bursa is known as Omar bin Ibrahim. It is one step ahead compared to the baths built in similar periods. The crossing, especially in the crown gate and domes, is greatly admired.
