Şehzade Mahmut Mausoleum was built in 1506 by the Architect Yakup, one of the talented names of that period. This tomb is built in memory of Şehzade Mahmut by his mother Bülbül Hatun. Besides Şehzade Mahmut, there are also the bodies of his son Şehzade Musa and Bülbül Hatun in the same region. The arks with these names are made of marble.
The tomb, which has an octagonal plan, largely uses cut stones. The dome, which is fringed with hedgehogs, is covered in lead. Bursa-type arches draw attention in the entrance section of the tomb. The door at the entrance is flattened from the outer section. The arches are seen from the inside. Gold-gilded motifs and hexagonal tiles are immediately prominent in the shrine. There is detailed pencil work on the upper part of the walls. Both the doors and the window covers of the tomb retain their original status. The woodwork in these parts adds significant value to the space. The Şehzade Mahmut Mausoleum, which is located in the Muradiye District of Bursa city center, suffers an influx of local visitors who want their wishes to be accepted. The mausoleum is in the garden section of the historical Muradiye Mosque. The historical shrine is also very close to the Şehzade Mehmet Mausoleum.
It is carried by six columns connected to each other during the first period of Şehzade Mahmut Mausoleum. Although it was an open shrine in the early years, it was converted into a closed shrine in the later years. It is thought that the polygonal-bodied columns, located just in front of the arched gate in the eastern part, were built for porches. Pointed arches are carried by columns stationed at the corners of the shrine. The decorations in the interior of the tomb deteriorate over time and lose their original texture. Şehzade Mahmut Mausoleum, located on Kaplıca Street in Osmangazi District of Bursa, was recently restored by the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.
