Gökdere Madrasa

Gökdere Madrasa, which bears the characteristic traces of Ottoman architecture, served in different ways during the first years of the Republic of Turkey. The madrasa, which was opened in 2005 as a historical structure for cultural activities as a result of the restoration works carried out after being used with very different functions such as prison and warehouse, is now used in the field of culture and art.

Gökdere Madrasa is a fresh blend of the city's past with its glass roof which contributes to day lighting, its social accessories in its garden, which are preferred especially in open weather, and its use of polychrome bricks on its exterior and interior facades.

Today, Gökdere Madrasa, which has a very active structure, has different activities every hour of the day. The structure, where interviews, concerts and various educational programs are held, is among the most popular cultural and art centers in Bursa today, within the historical heritage of hundreds of years.
