02.07.2024 16:11
This wooden mansion, one of the classic Alanya houses, has been serving under the name Alanya Atatürk House Museum since 1987.
Tevfik Azakoğlu, who is the real owner of the mansion which today serves as Alanya Atatürk House Museum, donated his house to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism at that time. There is no definite information about the year of construction of this building belonging to Tevfik Azakoğlu, who was an important lumbermaker in Alanya and its surroundings during those years.
On the ground floor of the museum, which has three floors in total, there are personal items and photographs brought from Anıtkabir specially. When visitors come to this area, they encounter a telegram written by Atatürk specifically for the Alanians. In the rooms on the second floor of the museum, some of the furniture that manages to reflect the atmosphere and the general situation of the period is remarkable. In addition, many figures of ethnographic value are exhibited in this area. Covering a total area of 235 square meters, the museum was built in the form of masonry. The second floor of the museum was built in the Baghdadi style with a wooden roof, and special roof tiles were used in the Marseille style.
The architectural planning on the first two floors of the museum is very similar. There are five separate rooms in each floor, and a polling room has also been created. The ceiling length of the floors is around five meters. It is known that Atatürk spent some time in this house in order to relax during his visit. In fact, a photograph taken in the bowl part of that day is exhibited in the museum.
The museum was involved in a very serious repair process in 2010. February 18 February 2011, dedicated to the date of Atatürk's arrival in Alanya on February 18, 1935, was reopened as a result of this repair process. The museum, which attracts great attention from local and foreign visitors in and around Alanya, is officially open between 08:30 and 19:00. During winter periods, the museum closes its doors at 18.00 in the evening. Entry is free of charge.
