The Haji Bayram Mosque in Ankara is one of the mosques of historical importance, completed in 1427. It is located in Ulus district, which borders Altindag District. The founder of the Bajrami sect, Numan-bin Koyunluca Ahmed, was known as Haji Bayram Veli. The mosque built in his name has a very different architectural character.
Haji Bayram Mosque, which has architectural details far ahead of its period, attracts attention with its architectural features such as two minaret balconies, a single nave, a modest sized interior, and the last communion places. It is located adjacent to a Roman temple dating back thousands of years. When taken together with the temple in question, which was also used as a church for a period, it is seen that three structures of different religions are located on the same area.
Haji Bayram Mosque, which has been preserved very well today, has undergone detailed repairs in various periods. For those who will visit the mosque, the Haji Bayram Mausoleum next to it can be visited with its interior design, which has both spiritual significance and artistic pen decorations.
