Tabakhane Mosque, which takes its name from its river, gives peace with both the elegant decorations of the inside and thewell preserved minaret... Trabzon is the city that lived during the Roman and Byzantine periods, conquered by Fatih Sultan Mehmet, was the Governorship of Yavuz Sultan Selim, where Suleiman the Magnificent was born and visited three times by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Founder of our Republic... It was built on the road where the Republic Neighborhood meets the Long Street in the city, which has been home to various civilizations for centuries, this humble and soothing mosque! According to the original inscription on the Tabakhane Mosque interior door, was built in Hijri 1060-Miladi 1650. However, the mosque was demolished in 1979, except for its minaret. Since then, the house of worship, which was rebuilt in 1987 as it is today, is built according to its first original structure. The minaret of the mosque, which has been standing undemolished since the first day, has been protected under Article 6 of the Cultural and Natural Assets Protection Act. Made of rubble and cut stone, The Tabakhane Mosque is covered with a wooden hipped roof. The last congregation place is two floors, rectangular and its only serefe minaret is in the northwest corner.
