Izmir, the chief crown of the Aegean Sea, has been one of the most developed cities in Anatolia throughout its history. In Izmir, one of the largest cities in Turkey, the legacies carried by history to the present day are too much to be underestimated. One of them is the Konak Yalı Mosque in Konak Square. The mosque was built by Ayşe Hanım, the daughter of Dervişzade Mehmet Pasha, a philanthropist who took over as admiral captain in Izmir and its surroundings in 1755, and which has won many other works in the city, is famous for the elegance of the tiles outside. Tiles brought from Kütahya and adorning the door and window sides are one of the prominent features of the building. The Konak Yalı Mosque, which is among the classical Ottoman mosques, has a single dome and a single minaret. After all, it's a small mosque. The Konak Yalı Mosque, which is recorded to have been demolished in the second half of the 19. century, has been replaced and rebuilt. It has survived through the repairs it has seen in the 20.century. The decorations and chandeliers in the interior are dazzling. The mosque, which is adjacent to the Government House in Konak Square, is now open to religious worship and visitation.
