Route Information
Who would know that Kuzguncuk would be the most nostalgic district in İstanbul, which is the city that almost led the 21st century and did not lose anything from the 80s and 90s? And it would host unforgettable legends of Turkish television, Perihan Abla and Ekmek Teknesi series and even have a street called Perihan Abla.
With their colorful shutters, buildings that don't let people go without taking pictures and people who always smile and greet each other thanks to settled neighborhood culture, are nice to see. But just the people? If you're as excited as we are for Kuzguncuk which takes people on a journey through history with its square, pastry seller, tea house, a pastry maker and many other beauties, let's start!
‘’I found a green branch in Kuzguncuk, I held on to it.
I live in Kuzguncuk; on the same floor as seagulls.’’
Can Yücel
Nazım Hikmet Ran, Can Yücel, Haydar Ergülen, Cengiz Bektaş, Oktay Rıfat and many more… We start our route from Kuzguncuk Pier in Kuzguncuk Square which was the home of poets and witnessed to the history. Away from the chaos, we're going to be attracted with the charm of historical apartments and get into the beautiful neighborhood of the Bosphorus.
While you breathe the fresh and sweet air of Bosphorus into your lungs, start stepping every inch of this square on the other hand. For instance, don't go on your way without looking at the windows of the antique dealer located right next to the pier. And do not forget to sit on wooden chairs in the tea garden of Çınaraltı Cafe which will stay on your right in a little later and drink a glass of freshly brewed tea.
