Route Information
When the dusty pages of history are opened, it is seen that Mesopotamia and its surroundings are the starting point for all cultures in the world today. Gaziantep is home to three heavenly religions in the written sources which has witnessed thousands of years of history, still stands as a legacy.
The history of Anatolia is full of, ancient civilizations, the prophets, single or polytheistic religions, with countless rich cultures, many traditions. When the history of Gaziantep is examined, it is noticeable that ironically, just as it is home to turkey's largest mosaic Museum, this city has brought together religions just like a mosaic. The city hosted many people within different beliefs, traditions, and thoughts.
On this route, so we will take a journey along our way to the three heavenly religions. We will visit churches and synagogues that have reached today from hundreds of years ago and try to learn their culture through the philosophy of One God
As GeziBilen said, the majority of Gaziantep's population consists of Muslim groups, but there is also great respect for other places of worship dating from the past years. Because of the lack of congregation or abandonment in some way, we will look for traces of Christianity and Judaism in buildings that have been transformed today, which are used as a cultural-art center or Museum nowadays, and just in a single day ;)
Without further ado, let us begin our journey. Our first stop is St. Bedros Church, which today serves as a cultural center.
